Prince Harry is set to have the world’s fastest-selling non-fiction book since records began. Rewind three years and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a statement in March 2020. It suggested they were standing down as senior members of the Royal Family in a bid to gain privacy and less press intrusion. Titled ‘Spare’, the book is filled with bombshell allegations and anecdotes from the Duke of Sussex’s privileged life.
Along with a series of interviews with Oprah Winfrey, Netflix, and television stations across the world, I would argue they aren’t seeking privacy at all. At least not what most would consider privacy to be. Trading on the titles they refuse to renounce, they have successfully made millions of dollars by tearing the royal family to shreds and tarnishing the memory of his late grandmother – Queen Elizabeth II.
It's an unusual way to ask for reconciliation with estranged relatives when you describe them as dangerous conspirators and villains. I guess what I’m suggesting is to stick to your earlier statement and live a quiet life in the hills of Santa Barbara, Los Angeles. The longer you feed the press machine, the longer it will churn out stories.
